Introduction To Backup Software

In the field of information technology, word backup means to make different copies of the original data in order to recover them whenever the loss of original data occurs. These extra or additional copies of the original data are usually termed as backup data. Backup are actually the lifeline against the data loss.

Imagine that you are working on a mega project and all the relevant material is present in a soft copy format, suddenly due to a power break down or a virus attack you loses all your files and your computer fails to respond.

The immediate thoughts that strikes to your mind will be do i have an extra copy of the same data??? So to avoid such situations we make extra copies usually termed as backup copies.

Backup software creates the duplicate copies of the data and provides the flexibility of recovering them whenever needed in critical conditions. Some backup software have the facility to take automated backups while some of them requires instruction to take backup at certain instance.
