Voice/Data Integration Technologies

Voice and data integration is important for the enterprise networks and ISPs.  The integration of the voice and data technologies have been increased in the recent years.  The enterprises and the common users want to take advantage of the voice communication over the existing IP based network.  The recent advancements in the technologies have also made it possible to process the analog signals into the digital through the DSP (Digital Signal Processor) technology.

This integration and processing was almost impossible a few years ago. The voice codec technology and the sophisticated algorithms have made the voice quality superb by controlling the bandwidth limitations.  The data networks have improved in such as a way that they can carry the voice from one point to another with very high quality.  The data networks have grown exponentially while the growth of the voice networks is relatively small.  The increased demand of the data networks has changed the way in which networks are designed and maintained.

Voice traffic work as an application over the data networks.  The voice and data integration provides very wonderful benefits to the users.  Many enterprises have deployed the integrated data/voice technologies to travel the voice over the WAN between different geographical locations.  The result is the long distance cheap calls through WAN and internet.  Here comes the VOIP (Voice Over IP), which is an example of the voice and data integrated technology.  The VOIP is the internet telephony technology that enables a user to make long distance phone calls at very cheap rates. VOIP provides support to the end to end business critical applications.
