Structured Cabling

With the technological advancements in the information technology field especially in the computer networking and data communications, there are a lot of communication mediums such as fiber optic cables and the structured cabling have evolved. Technology, business applications and the network cables are evolving rapidly.

Structured cabling is the telecommunication infrastructure cable that consists of several parts and it is mostly used to connect the telecommunication networks. There are different standards that control the design, deployment and the setup of the structured cabling.

These cables are used for the voice, video, data and multimedia communications by using the CAT5 and CAT6 cables.  Structured cabling provides a lot of benefits to the businesses.  Some of the key benefits include the following.

  • Multivendor hardware and equipments are supported with each other.
  • It provides the best ROI to the businesses.
  • Wired structured cables are easy to isolate and troubleshoot the common problems.
  • Cat5 and Cat6 supported systems are likely to provide the support for the future applications.
  • It provides the consistency and the same cable can be deployed in the entire network.
  • It eliminates the need for the re-cabling and re-termination of the cabling.

It can be used as the backbone cable, horizontal cable and in the telecommunication systems.  The standardized structured cabling design eliminates the cost, hassle and the troubleshooting efforts that are used in the other cables.
